History:

The Cobb Underage Drinking Task Force was formed - March 2000, to address underage drinking conditions in Cobb County by providing a comprehensive approach to reducing underage drinking through the collaborative efforts of its partners and members. Our Logo was designed by a Sprayberry High School student and depicts the tension that exists between youth and adults where alcohol is concerned.

Purpose:

Developing comprehensive strategies to measurably reduce underage drinking throughout Cobb County.

Goals:

  1. Limit alcohol availability to underage youth.

  2. Increase community organizing around the issues of underage drinking and adult provision of alcohol to minors.

  3. Shift community underage drinking norms from acceptance of underage drinking as a rite-of-passage to an acceptance of underage drinking as the unhealthy and illegal activity that it is.
